Virtual Art History Happy Hou

May 13, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Join us for the next installment of our fun and informative lecture series, celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and the opening of our special exhibition The Slipstream: Reflection, Resilience, and Resistance in the Art of Our Time. Artist Byron Kim and Erika Umali, Assistant Curator of Collections, share an overview of Kim’s practice since 1990, including his works that are featured in The Slipstream. Then, they consider how selected artworks from our Arts of Asia and Contemporary Art collections reflect Asian and Asian diasporic identities.

This program is free to stream on Facebook Live. Or, pay what you wish to join us on Zoom and participate in a Q&A with the speakers after the talks. Your contribution supports our dynamic public programs and events.
