At the intersection of a love story and an immigrant journey, Él y Ella is inspired by the true story of two Mexican artists who fall in love and move to New York on a whim. The rom-com musical blends mariachi, cumbia, ranchera, corrido, and norteña traditions into a vibrant Spanglish score performed by four multi-instrumentalists. Walk alongside the characters as they experience the exhilaration and sacrifice of building a life through art without losing sight of their roots while raising their Mexican-American son. At its heart, Él y Ella asks: How much of ourselves are we willing to sacrifice in pursuit of our dreams?
