Using the universal themes of William Shakespeare’s plays as a jumping off point, The Shakespeare and Autism Project engages students on the autism spectrum in dramatic games to break through communicative blocks and play. Games target communication skills using specialized acting games, demonstration, repetition, and the text of Shakespeare’s play The Tempest.
Created by Kelly Hunter, former Royal Shakespeare Company actress and artistic director of Flute Theatre; hosted by Manhattan Youth’s Downtown Community Center.
