Relaxed Performance of NOTHING CAN TAKE YOU FROM THE HAND OF GOD at Playwrights Horizons

October 25, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Nothing Can Take You From the Hand of God
Relaxed Performance: Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 PM
Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons
(416 West 42nd Street)

Written by Jen Tullock and Frank Winters
Directed by Jared Mezzocchi
Performed by Jen Tullock (Severance)

About the Show: When a best-selling writer releases a book about her upbringing as a gay kid in the Evangelical South, she is confronted by the woman she claims to have had an affair with — who insists the stories are false. Operating multiple cameras and live looping systems, Jen Tullock (Severance) expertly plays a full cast of characters in a tour-de-force performance that blurs the line between reality and the lies we tell ourselves in order to survive.

Relaxed Performance: Relaxed Performances are designed to welcome neurodivergent audience members and anyone who benefits from a more flexible, judgment-free theatergoing experience. For this production, Playwrights Horizons has partnered with Dr. Becca Yuré, Ph.D., BCBA, LBA, a specialist in inclusive practice, to help guide the process and ensure a supportive environment for all guests. Adjustments include:

  • Masks are required for all attendees
  • House lights remain at a raised level throughout the performance (no changes to onstage lighting)
  • Talking is welcome—the space is hush-free and expressive behavior is encouraged
  • Audience may come and go freely throughout the show
  • A designated quiet area is available for breaks
  • Fidget tools, ear defenders, and earplugs will be available at the Audience Services Desk
  • A digital Know-Before-You-Go Guide will be available to help you prepare for your visit
  • Trained staff and volunteers will be stationed in the lobby and theater to assist as needed

Access Tickets: Discounted tickets are available through our Access Passport program. Members can purchase starting Tuesday, August 5. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 19.

Program Image Description
Frank and Jen sit side by side on the floor against a light background. Frank, on the left, is a bald man wearing a light sweatshirt and dark pants, with his hands clasped loosely in his lap and a calm expression on his face. Jen, on the right, wears a crisp white button-up shirt and black pants. She leans back slightly on one hand with her knees up and crossed, looking directly at the camera with a soft, composed expression. Bold black text above them reads, "NOTHING CAN TAKE YOU FROM THE HAND OF GOD." Overlaid across the bottom of the image in large handwritten script is the word “Playwrights” in a bright orange “creamsicle” color.
