The MTA Accessibility team has been tasked with enhancing accessibility across all modes of transportation within the transit system. The team has been working on initiatives to improve customer communications, set design standards on subways, buses, and railroads, work with colleagues at Access-A-Ride to enhance the service, engage customers, and provide employee education. The team works closely with the disability community to identify issues that impact transportation and to inform planning efforts. This includes MTA’s rollout of the new fare payment system, OMNY (One Metro New York), specifically for riders in the Reduced-Fare program.
Help us celebrate the 32nd Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Sara Bahri, MTA Accessibility Senior Outreach Coordinator, will take us through the MTA’s expanding accessibility plans, and explain how to switch from Reduced-Fare MetroCard to Reduced-Fare OMNY.
