The Guggenheim Museum invites visitors who are blind or who have low vision to come on out to this holiday party, offered as part of a series of programs called Mind’s Eye. Refreshments will be served. Free, but space is limited; advance RSVP is required by November 24. To RSVP, call 212 360 4355 or e-mail access@guggenheim.org.
Mind’s Eye programs, offered on the first Monday and second Wednesday of every month, provide an opportunity for visitors who are blind or have low vision to explore the museum’s exhibitions, collections, and architecture through communication and sensory tools particular to their experience. Conducted through verbal imaging and touch, tours and workshops are led by arts and education professionals who facilitate shared observation, discussion, and creative practice.
For visitors who wish to visit the museum on their own, the free Guggenheim app includes verbal imaging tours and VoiceOver. Download the app at guggenheim.org/app or borrow a device for free with museum admission. Staff assistance is available at the museum.
Free, RSVP required one week before program date. To RSVP and to receive program notifications, email access@guggenheim.org or call 212-360-4355.
