Lower East Side Tenement Museum Hard Times Touch Tour

Visitors will participate in an orientation session using tactile models of our historic tenement as well as architectural features before going on a tour that will include touch objects, braille materials, and verbal description. The tour will be an hour and a half long, followed by a reception featuring local Lower East Side foods.

TICKETS ARE FREE
All are welcome, but space is limited, so reservations are required.

Hard Times
Discover how a specific immigrant survived and economic depression while living at 97 Orchard Street. Visit the restored homes of either the German-Jewish Gumpertz family, whose patriarch disappeared during the Panic of 1873, OR the Italian-Catholic Baldizzi family, who lived through the Great Depression.

2nd Floor – Recommended Ages 8 and up.
