Lincoln Center Sensory-Friendly Film Screening of NYCB George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, December 6th

December 6, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is delighted to announce a special holiday film screening for community and day-hab groups that serve adults with disabilities.  As part of Lincoln Center at the Movies, bringing exceptional artistic performances to local movie theaters, we are offering a sensory-friendly screening of New York City Ballet’s production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.  The screening is free of charge, but space is limited and registration is required.

Experience the wonder of this iconic production of a holiday classic on the big screen. In George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker™, Tchaikovsky’s beloved melodies transport the young and young at heart to a magical world where mischievous mice besiege a battalion of toy soldiers, and an onstage blizzard leads to an enchanted Land of Sweets. In the New York City Ballet’s famously extravagant staging, Balanchine’s stunning choreography shines amidst awe-inspiring set pieces, ornate costumes, and grand one-of-a-kind visual effects, like the one-ton Christmas tree that grows to an astonishing 40 feet.
