Lincoln Center Presents: The Art of Footwork

What happens when a world freestyle soccer champion meets a Broadway tap star? In this playful, high-energy workshop, Nick Seyda and John Manzari team up to explore rhythm, footwork, and the surprising talents of our feet. Nick Seyda, an internationally recognized freestyle soccer performer and 2021 World Champion who has wowed crowds across New York and beyond, brings jaw-dropping control and creativity. John Manzari, an award-nominated tap dancer and Broadway performer (Funny Girl) seen everywhere from Jazz at Lincoln Center to So You Think You Can Dance, brings musicality, precision, and showmanship. Together, they’ll guide you through basic tap steps and soccer freestyle drills, revealing how dance and sport share balance, coordination, and groove. Open to all levels. This is a Relaxed Performance.

You don’t need to be an athlete or a dancer to know how to move your feet in a way that supports your joints and muscles. Even basic moves like single-leg balancing, toe curls, and calf stretches can improve your mobility to help prevent falls, ankle sprains, and other musculoskeletal injuries, explains Dr. Kristian Johnson von Rickenbach, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia. So come learn, straight from a professional freestyle soccer champion and a Broadway tap dancer, some ways to strengthen your feet and boost your agility through high-energy footwork.  

There are two ways to access this free event:
1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up!
2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon for all. Or, become a member and enjoy priority entry with automatic access to every Fast Track line, all year round.
