Lincoln Center Presents: Ngano – Storytelling through Song with Dr. Tanyaradzwa
June 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Presented in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
In this lively, engaging musical experience for families, children don’t just listen—they participate actively! Led by Zimbabwean composer, singer, and scholar Dr. Tanyaradzwa, young audiences will clap, sing in call-and-response, move, and even help create music together through traditional folktales and fables inspired by Indigenous Zimbabwean traditions. This indoor, family-friendly event will be ASL interpreted. This is a Relaxed Performance.
From NewYork-Presbyterian, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts:
Participating in a group musical experience is as good for the brain as it is for the soul. Rhythmic group singing lowers stress and calms the nervous system, creating a particularly rich environment for kids to learn, explains Dr. Nicholas Harris, a pediatric neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine. Call-and-response singing, for instance, helps children with executive functioning and problem-solving, while interactive music activities improve focus and attention. So come join us at this family-friendly immersive musical event to nurture your heart and mind.
