Enjoy a series of afternoons at the Long Island Museum with this special program to creatively engage those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss and their care partners.
Over six sessions participants will develop Life is a Cabaret, a unique musical revue featuring highlight moments from the most popular shows every produced on the Great White Way. The production will explore and present music that audiences know and love such as “Another Openin,’ Another Show,” “You’ve Gotta Have Heart,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Lullaby of Broadway.” The workshop will culminate in an afternoon of song and dance for our community of friends and family. Most importantly, these sessions will provide those with memory loss and their care partners an opportunity for joyful engagement and collaboration.
Life is a Cabaret is a collaboration between LIM and ThinkBig! Theater Arts The program will be led by ThinkBig! Director Heather Thorgersen , a theater artist and dementia care specialist.
