Dancer and choreographer Jerron Herman responds to The Roof Garden Commission: Lauren Halsey with LAX, a solo dance work which reimagines movement through the Black disabled body and explores the fine line between modernity and antiquity. Unsighted textile artist Sugandha Gupta contributes the piece’s ornate, sensory-driven costume, which Herman will put into motion against an original soundscape in this celebration of Disability Pride Month at The Met.
