Intrepid Early Morning Opening- Celebrations Aboard

February 8, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Explore how crew members aboard Intrepid celebrated special occasions with their fellow sailors when their families were far away. The program will recreate some of these U.S. Navy traditions and give families the chance to share some of their own! Tours will visit the special exhibition Navy Cakes: A Slice of History.

The Intrepid Museum offers Early Morning Openings for individuals with autism six times a year. By opening its doors early for children (ages 3-18) and their families, participants can experience the Museum in a sensory-friendly environment. During this program educators lead short, interactive tours designed for all learners, as well as drop-in art activities and structured social/play opportunities.
