Guggenheim Mind’s Eye Tour

We invite visitors who are blind or who have low vision to join us for a tour and discussion of the exhibition Alberto Burri: The Trauma of Painting, a major retrospective showcasing the pioneering work of Italian artist Alberto Burri (1915–95). A former doctor and prisoner of war, Burri used unconventional materials and experimental techniques that blurred boundaries between painting and relief sculpture. Discover how Burri stitched, melded, and burned surfaces to create canvases that position him as a central figure in post–World War II art. This tour will be conducted through Verbal Description and touch.
