As Jewish immigrants came to New York’s Lower East Side at the turn-of-the-century, they aspired to create spaces that would foster community and instill a sense of pride. The Eldridge Street Synagogue, now home to the Museum at Eldridge Street, was one such place. Through fascinating archival footage, stunning images and inspirational sounds, we will uncover Eldridge Street’s storied past from its founding, decline, to its miraculous restoration.
