DEGENERATES – Audio Described Performance & Touch Tour

DEGENERATES, written by Else Went and directed by Emma Rosa Went, takes us into an obscure corner of the internet where a group of young men have built a community around a shared conviction: the game is rigged against them, they will never be loved, and there is little point in trying. When an unexpected relationship begins to form, the consequences of that fatalism become painfully clear. Darkly funny and unsettling, DEGENERATES examines an insular online community formed around shared and seemingly infinite miseries.

This performance will feature live Audio Description for blind and low-vision audience members. Audio Description provides live verbal descriptions of the visual elements of the production, including action, settings, costumes, and other visual details, delivered through a headset during the performance.

A pre-show Touch Tour will also be offered, providing an opportunity to experience selected elements of the production through touch and description before the performance.

Touch Tour timing and additional details will be shared with registered attendees in advance. Playwrights Horizons’ free Access Membership is available to anyone who would benefit from accessibility offerings. Access Members may purchase up to two $35 tickets (plus a $3.50 facility fee per ticket) for each production, including performances with accessibility offerings.
