Lincoln Center Presents: The Music of You With Dr. Susan Rogers

Presented in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
Listening to music excites the dopamine reward system and can trigger visuals and memories. What do you see in your mind’s eye, and what memories does music conjure? Your “listener profile” is a Goldilocks zone—where features of the music you love best are just right: this is the music of you! Join Susan Rogers, PhD—a behavioral neuroscientist and former record producer and engineer best known for her work with Prince—and filmmaker and DJ octomedusa for a “record pull” to discuss what the music you love reveals about your sense of self. Music lovers have sweet spots in their listener profile—Goldilocks zones where music’s features feel just right. In a record pull we play and talk about songs we love, sharing our musical self with others. This event will feature open captioning. This is a Relaxed Performance.
