Lincoln Center Presents: Yinka Esi Graves – The Disappearing Act
June 21 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Part of the Pasculano Collaborative for Contemporary Dance
As part of the inaugural Lincoln Center Contemporary Dance Festival, the New York Premiere of The Disappearing Act explores flamenco’s roots, shining a light on the Afro-descendant populations in southern Spain who shaped the genre. Born in London to a family from Ghana and Jamaica, British flamenco artist Yinka Esi Graves’ travels to Andalusia to study the art form exposed her to a wide array of cultures, an experience this performance brings vividly to life. In this transfixing solo with live music, Graves transforms the act of disappearing into a moving artistic gesture. This performance will have Audio Description available.
Don’t miss the pre-show talk! Join us in the Alice Tully Hall Lobby at 2:45pm for a pre-show talk with the curatorial team from the Pasculano Collaborative for Contemporary Dance to hear more about the production. The pre-show talk is open to the public and does not require a performance ticket.
