DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim is continuing to celebrate the ideas\, people\, and art at the core of its mission by offering Mind’s Eye programming for participants who are blind or have low vision. Join us for virtual programs in October celebrating the spooky season. \nWe’ll be exploring artworks from the Guggenheim’s collection with our antennae tuned to the eerie frequency. Go beyond the grave to explore art connected to the afterlife. Discover the unseen presences that might be haunting some artists’ work. Listen to new spooky stories about some familiar artworks. (Never fear\, this program is safe for those who—like your educator—are scared of ghostly tales.) \nOctober Mind’s Eye programming will be led by educator Rachel Ropeik through verbal description and conversation. The sessions will be accessible by web link or by dial-in phone number\, depending on your preference. \nPlease select a date: Monday\, October 23 from 6:30-8:30pm or Wednesday\, October 25 from 2:00-4:00pm \nFree\, but space is limited. This program features the current exhibition Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea\, 1960s–1970s. \nThis exhibition centers a network of key artists who\, in the pivotal decades following the Korean War\, pushed boundaries in response to a rapidly changing socioeconomic and political landscape. Visitors encounter a variety of mediums in the show including painting\, sculpture\, photography\, video\, and installation. Join us in exploring an era of remarkable transformation in South Korea during this in-person program at the museum. \nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by artist and educator Maya Jeffereis through verbal description and conversation.

DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim Museum welcomes visitors from the D/deaf community for an in-person American Sign Language (ASL) tour on Sunday\, September 10\, from 6:30–8:30 pm. Join us at the museum to explore the exhibitions Gego: Measuring Infinity and Sarah Sze: Timelapse during their final hours on view. \nThis after-hours program is led by educator Joyce Hom\, and is free for participants. We’ll begin with a tour in the galleries followed by a light reception and art-making activities in our Education Center. \nDesigned for the D/deaf community\, the tour is in ASL only without voice interpretation. Due to limited capacity\, we are not able to accommodate ASL students at this time. \nSpace is limited\, please RSVP at least three days before the program.
