SUMMARY:Rheology - American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation
DESCRIPTION:After a critically-acclaimed run last spring\, Playwrights Horizons presents Rheology! Written and directed by Shayok Misha Chowdhury (2024 Obie winner and Pulitzer finalist)\, the piece features both Misha and an Obie Award-winning performance from his physicist mother\, Bulbul Chakraborty. \nSynopsis: In Rheology\, Shayok Misha Chowdhury joins forces with his physicist mother\, Bulbul Chakraborty. In this boundary-pushing collaboration\, an artist son and his scientist mother challenge each other to a high-stakes experiment. \nThis performance will feature American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for Deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons. Interpreters stand in a clearly visible position onstage and interpret the spoken and auditory elements of the performance using American Sign Language. Designated seating is reserved to provide d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members with the best sightlines to the interpreters. For more information on scheduled ASL-Interpreted performances or to reserve designated seating\, please contact accessibility@phnyc.org.

SUMMARY:Off-Broadway Mask Required Performances - HOLD ME IN THE WATER at Playwrights Horizons
DESCRIPTION:Hold Me in the Water \nWritten and performed by Ryan J. Haddad\nDirected by Danny Sharron \nAbout Hold Me in the Water: When Ryan falls for a man he just met\, he’s ready for the romance of his dreams. But as their connection grows\, Ryan learns that new heights of joy can bring deep insecurities to the surface. Disarmingly vulnerable and playfully provocative\, Hold Me in the Water is a funny and tender solo play about the passion and intimacy of first love. \nRegarding Mask Required Performances: \nHold Me in the Water is a show grounded in disability cultural values. In much of disability culture\, we practice collective care to protect each other. One easy way to protect others from viral illness is by wearing a mask. Masks are required at the following performances (dates subject to change): \n\nWednesday\, April 16th\, 7:30PM\nSaturday\, April 26th\, 2:30PM\nWednesday\, April 30th\, 7:30PM\nSaturday\, May 3rd\, 2:30PM\n\nFor these dates\, we ask that you please wear a mask to help protect you\, those around you\, and the company. If you do not have a mask\, one can be provided by any member of the theater staff. \nThank you from the company of Hold Me In the Water.
