SUMMARY:Guggenheim Mind's Eye: Deep Thinkers
DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim New York celebrates the ideas\, people\, and art at the core of its mission by offering virtual and in-person Mind’s Eye programming for participants who are blind or have low vision. Join us for a tour of the exhibitions A Year With Children and Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers. \nWe’ll invite you to consider the artistic connections between select artworks by Rashid Johnson alongside work by student artists participating in Learning Through Art\, the Guggenheim’s artist-in-residence program in New York City public elementary schools. Think deeply with us as we engage in a shared exploration of the themes\, materials\, and mediums found in both exhibitions. \nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by Guggenheim educators through verbal description and conversation. The virtual sessions will be accessible by web link or by dial-in phone number\, depending on your preference. \nThe program is repeated both online and in person. Please let us know which date you prefer to join us: \nVirtual Programs:\nMonday\, June 2\, 6:30-8:30pm\nWednesday\, June 4\, 2:00-4:00pm \nIn Person Programs:\nMonday\, June 9\, 6:30-8:30pm\nWednesday\, June 11\, 2:00-4:00pm \nFree\, but space is limited. RSVP is required three days before the program. To RSVP\, call 212 360 4355 or email access@guggenheim.org.

SUMMARY:Mind's Eye at the Guggenheim - Jenny Holzer: Light Line
DESCRIPTION:Join us this month for a tour of our newest exhibition Jenny Holzer: Light Line.  \nThis exhibition presents a reimagination of Jenny Holzer’s landmark 1989 installation at the Guggenheim. Climbing all six ramps of the museum\, this LED site-specific installation transforms the building with a display of scrolling texts\, featuring selections from her iconic series\, such as “Truisms” and “Inflammatory Essays”. \nLight Line highlights the incisive use of the written word across time and media in Holzer’s practice. In addition to the LED sign\, the exhibition features a selection of Holzer’s works from the 1970s to the present day\, including paintings\, works on paper\, and stone pieces. \nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by artist and educator Maya Jeffereis through verbal description and conversation. The virtual session will be accessible by web link or by dial-in phone number\, depending on your preference. \nThe program is repeated both online and in person. Please select one date to attend: \nMonday\, July 1: 6:30-8:30pm (virtual)\nWednesday\, July 3: 2-4pm (virtual)\nMonday\, July 8: 6:30-8:30pm (in-person)\nWednesday\, July 10: 2-4pm (in-person)\nFree\, but space is limited. RSVP is required three days before the program. To RSVP\, call 212 360 4355 or email access@guggenheim.org.
