This night of readings and performances features students from The Judith S. Kaye School\, Urban Academy\, N.Y.C Lab School\, and Spruce Street School.

A musical prodigy\, Oscar Dudamel was enraptured in his youth by the magic of salsa when he first heard the sounds of Willie Colón. Dudamel received classical training within his hometown’s highly regarded El Sistema Music Education program and went on to play in classical orchestras\, but his fascination with the Caribbean rhythms of salsa never left him. His Caracas-based salsa orchestra has shared the stage with Rubén Blades\, Hector Lavoe\, Gilberto Santa Rosa\, Luis Enrique\, and many others. Dudamel’s headlining\, full-band Lincoln Center premiere celebrates the release of the artist’s new album Sueño Alcanzado.

DESCRIPTION:Dancers\, actors\, and musicians from The Juilliard Green Club are thrilled to take the stage to present a multi-genre\, immersive concert experience. We ask our audience to consider our collective futures in the face of climate change amidst differences in background\, class\, resources\, and geographical location. Artists have always looked either to the past or forward to an unknown future\, often attempting to predict what awaits all of us with the knowledge that they have in their time. This need to consider our place and agency within a larger context is one artists always struggle with; but today\, it is something we all struggle with\, as the choices necessary to guarantee a safe future are not in our hands. We will consider art that seeks out the past\, present\, and future of our Earth to answer the following question: how have artists considered their futures in the past\, and what can we learn from them in imagining our own future?

DESCRIPTION:The New York Times called the American Modern Opera Company’s Summer for the City 2025 season “a milestone” both for the performers and for Lincoln Center. This spring\, AMOC* returns to Lincoln Center for a series of one-night-only presentations of new and foundational compositions. The March program spotlights a formidable chamber music collective constructed of AMOC* core ensemble members including violinist/violist Miranda Cuckson\, violinist Keir GoGwilt\, and cellist Coleman Itzkoff. Together\, they will play “Wildflowers\,” a new and intricate miniature duet for violins by Juri Seo\, and “Meadow\,” composer Linda Catlin Smith’s gently wandering\, gradually unfolding string trio. The program closes with a rendition of selected movements from “Limin’\,” the Canadian composer/pianist Stewart Goodyear’s suite for violin and keys that draws inspiration from American and Caribbean scenes and dances. “Limin'” will feature Cuckson and a special guest appearance from Goodyear on piano.

She was born in the U.S. and grew up in Norway; her music is about reconnecting with her roots\, trusting her intuition\, and dreaming big. \nFounded one decade ago in Håga\, Sweden\, FRÄNDER unites Swedish and Estonian traditions with a bold modern edge\, creating a contemporary “heavy folk” sound that is both acoustic and richly powerful. Now a standout voice on the Nordic folk scene\, they deliver an evocative soundscape inspired by ancient northern woodlands. Their latest album\, Fränder II\, pushes the boundaries of folk with echoes of rock energy woven into deep-rooted Nordic rhythms. The springboards for the conversation are three iconic instrumental works created in New York that have left an indelible mark on the U.S. musical landscape: a symphonic suite from the shore-leave musical On the Town by former NY Phil Music Director Leonard Bernstein; Gershwin’s Concerto in F\, which the NY Phil commissioned in 1925; and Dvořák’s omnipresent New World Symphony\, unveiled by the NY Phil in 1893. \nThis conversation is part of a five-event series examining the American experience in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.
