SUMMARY:Jewish Museum: ASL Tour: Identity\, Culture\, and Community: Stories from the Collections of the Jewish Museum
DESCRIPTION:Participants in the ASL community are invited to explore the exhibition Identity\, Culture\, and Community: Stories from the Collections of the Jewish Museum through a tour led by a Deaf educator. \nThe Jewish Museum’s collection galleries trace the rich history of Jewish culture across the global diaspora. It will explore topics such as Jewish ritual\, migration\, memory\, identity\, feminist art\, and how Jewish identity and experience are being interpreted in contemporary works. The two floor installation will be joined visually by a monumentally scaled installation of more than 120 Hanukkah lamps\, underscoring the central meaning of light as a symbol of enlightenment and hope across cultures. \nDue to limited capacity\, ASL students will not be admitted to the program and no voice interpretation will be provided.  \nAll Access Programs are free of charge and require advance reservation. If you have any questions or need accommodations\, please contact access@thejm.org or 212.423.3289. If you are interested in observing this program\, please reach out to us before registering.
