SUMMARY:ACCESS JRM: Sensory-Friendly Hours
DESCRIPTION:Join us for sensory-friendly hours at the Jackie Robinson Museum\, held on the first Friday afternoon of each month and specially designed for neurodivergent visitors\, including youth and their families\, teens\, and adults. ACCESS JRM Fridays will feature limited general admission for reduced crowds and quieter gallery spaces with exhibit audio reduced or silenced. \nIn addition to our KultureCity resources available at all times\, ACCESS JRM hours will include availability of a dedicated quiet zone and interpretive offerings such as tours\, picture book readings\, and tactile learning opportunities for inclusive exploration. All age groups are welcome! \nACCESS JRM is mostly a self-guided experience and not designed as a drop-off activity. All children and youth ticket holders must be accompanied by an adult.

SUMMARY:Relaxed Astronomy Live: From Lunar Steps to Martian Leaps
DESCRIPTION:In this relaxed and sensory-friendly Astronomy Live\, join Museum educators Kate Schmidt and Devin D’Agostino on a field trip to the Moon and Mars. \nLearn how our nearest neighbors compare to Earth and what it will take to land humans on another world. \nThis program is designed for a neurodiverse youth audience\, including autistic children and children with other intellectual/developmental disabilities. \nThis modified Hayden Planetarium program features: \n\nFloor lighting\nReduced volume\nA break space for participants who need to step out during the program\, and opportunity to exit and re-enter during the program\nSensory tools\, such as headsets and stress balls\, for participants\nA relaxed environment where all forms of curiosity and participation are welcome!\n\nDoors will open at 10 am and the program will begin at 10:30 am. \nThe Museum’s 81st Street entrance at the Rose Center for Earth and Space will be a dedicated entrance for attendees of this event between 10-11 am. \nPlease note that if you arrive after 11 am\, the entrance will be open to the general public for visiting the Museum.

DESCRIPTION:The Intrepid Museum offers programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families take a guided\, interactive tour of the Museum and can participate in activities that everyone can enjoy. \nNavigation: Finding Your Way\nFrom ships to planes\, vessels of all types rely on navigation to find their way. Families will explore historic navigation tools and techniques used at sea and make connections to how we navigate the world today. \nCheck-in begins at 1:30pm. Please arrive before 2:00pm in order to participate in the full program.
