DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim celebrates the ideas\, people\, and art at the core of its mission by offering virtual and in-person Mind’s Eye programming for participants who are blind or have low vision. Join us in November for a tour of our newest exhibition Harmony and Dissonance: Orphism in Paris\, 1910-1930.\n\nThis major exhibition will examine the vibrant abstract art of Orphism\, explore its developments in Paris\, and the impact dance\, music\, and poetry\, among other disciplines\, had on the art.\n\nOrphism emerged in the early 1910s\, when the innovations brought about by modern life were radically altering conceptions of time and space. Artists connected to Orphism engaged with ideas of simultaneity in kaleidoscopic compositions\, investigating the transformative possibilities of color\, form\, and motion. Selected works by artists including Robert Delaunay\, Sonia Delaunay\, Marcel Duchamp\, Mainie Jellett\, František Kupka\, Francis Picabia\, and Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso\, and by the Synchromists Stanton Macdonald-Wright and Morgan Russell\, will be on view.\n\nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by artist and educator Maya Jeffereis through verbal description and conversation. An unlikely love story\, and a startling new work of speculative fiction\, In the Amazon Warehouse Parking Lot is a quietly revolutionary tale of queer aging\, chosen family\, and the search for home in a volatile world.\n\n\nAbout the Touch Tour & Audio Described Performance:\nIn the context of out theater productions\, an audio described performance improves access for blind or low vision theatergoers by providing a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production\, broadcast through a headset. Delivered around the dialogue\, it describes action that is essential to the understanding of the story\, as well as information such as the set\, costumes\, facial expressions\, and visual jokes that might otherwise be missed. Our audio describer articulates the design and direction on stage via a personal listening device. Devices (both DLDs & ALDs) are available for check out at the concessions stand\, photo ID required.\n\n\nAn optional touch tour precedes the performance\, giving participants an opportunity to go on stage\, meet the cast\, and have a tactile experience with key set\, costume and props. SUMMARY:A Special Family Gathering with Extreme Kids & Crew and Spellbound Theatre!
DESCRIPTION:Join us this November for an evening of family fun and connection at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum! From 4 PM to 5 PM\, families can explore the museum’s exhibits. When the museum closes at 5 PM\, Extreme Kids & Crew and Spellbound Theatre will take over the rooftop to host an interactive performance of Naughty Penguin\, complete with theatrics and puppetry. Families can also visit craft stations to make their own binoculars\, as well as a sensory station with faux snow and toy penguins for hands-on play. \nTo ensure everyone’s comfort\, we’re limiting the number of participating families each month. A non-refundable fee of $9 covers up to four family members. This fee helps us maintain the quality of our meetups and ensures we have the resources for future events. \nWe can’t wait to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim celebrates the ideas\, people\, and art at the core of its mission by offering virtual and in-person Mind’s Eye programming for participants who are blind or have low vision. Join us in November for a tour of our newest exhibition Harmony and Dissonance: Orphism in Paris\, 1910-1930.\n\nThis major exhibition will examine the vibrant abstract art of Orphism\, explore its developments in Paris\, and the impact dance\, music\, and poetry\, among other disciplines\, had on the art.\n\nOrphism emerged in the early 1910s\, when the innovations brought about by modern life were radically altering conceptions of time and space. Artists connected to Orphism engaged with ideas of simultaneity in kaleidoscopic compositions\, investigating the transformative possibilities of color\, form\, and motion. Selected works by artists including Robert Delaunay\, Sonia Delaunay\, Marcel Duchamp\, Mainie Jellett\, František Kupka\, Francis Picabia\, and Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso\, and by the Synchromists Stanton Macdonald-Wright and Morgan Russell\, will be on view.\n\nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by artist and educator Maya Jeffereis through verbal description and conversation. DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim celebrates the ideas\, people\, and art at the core of its mission by offering virtual and in-person Mind’s Eye programming for participants who are blind or have low vision. Join us in November for a tour of our newest exhibition Harmony and Dissonance: Orphism in Paris\, 1910-1930.\n\nThis major exhibition will examine the vibrant abstract art of Orphism\, explore its developments in Paris\, and the impact dance\, music\, and poetry\, among other disciplines\, had on the art.\n\nOrphism emerged in the early 1910s\, when the innovations brought about by modern life were radically altering conceptions of time and space. Artists connected to Orphism engaged with ideas of simultaneity in kaleidoscopic compositions\, investigating the transformative possibilities of color\, form\, and motion. Selected works by artists including Robert Delaunay\, Sonia Delaunay\, Marcel Duchamp\, Mainie Jellett\, František Kupka\, Francis Picabia\, and Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso\, and by the Synchromists Stanton Macdonald-Wright and Morgan Russell\, will be on view.\n\nThis month’s Mind’s Eye programming will be led by artist and educator Maya Jeffereis through verbal description and conversation. DESCRIPTION:Join Morley as she weaves the threads of jazz\, soul\, and folk traditions into a singular tapestry of vocal and acoustic splendor — the sound wave of a life lived with uncommon devotion to human rights and environmental justice. \nThis event is part of Lincoln Center Moments\, a free performance-based program specially designed for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. \nPerformances at 11:00 am are Relaxed Performances\, designed for a neurodiverse audience. In addition to audiences impacted by dementia\, these performances are also open to adults with developmental disabilities. \nPerformances at 1:00 pm are followed by an hour-long workshop specially designed for audiences impacted by dementia—facilitated by educators and music therapists that explore the work through discussion\, movement\, music\, and art-making. \nThis event is part of Lincoln Center Moments.
