DESCRIPTION:Spend an evening engaging with Disability Justice practices through drop-in art making and disability community connection. \nAccessibility: ASL interpreters\, assistive listening devices\, CART (live captioning)\, ear defenders\, fidget tools\, wobbly cushions\, lap desks\, adaptive art-making materials\, sighted guides and verbal descriptions\, seats with and without armrests\, and air purifiers are available. \nMasks are strongly encouraged and will be provided at this event. \nVisitors may borrow manual wheelchairs (standard and wide) from Security at the 81st Street entrance on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nIf you have further access needs that aren’t met by the list above\, please contact access@metmuseum.org or 212.650.2010. \nThis program is designed to support and welcome disabled QTBIPOC (Queer\, Trans\, Black\, Indigenous People of Color) along with their care partners and friends. \nFormat: This drop-in program takes place in the classroom. Drawing primarily from the Department of Nike Archives (DNA)\, the exhibition brings together rarely seen experimental prototypes\, original design studies\, rarities\, and one-of-a-kind pieces alongside iconic shoe collaborations to highlight how sport can drive design innovation and shape global culture. \nSpace for student observers or professional colleagues is limited. DESCRIPTION:Building a Career as a Neurodivergent Artist  \n\nIn this virtual series\, participants will learn about building an artistic career\, while building community with other neurodivergent artists. This series will highlight how different artists earn money while practicing their art.  Each session will focus on a different art form. \n\nWednesday August 19\, 3-5pm – Writing with guest artist Ava X. Rigelhaupt\nWednesday August 26\, 3-5pm – Visual Arts with guest artist Emily Sara\nWednesday September 2\, 3-5pm – Performing Arts with guest artist Imani Russell \n\nAll sessions will take place on Zoom. Participants can attend one\, two\, or all three workshops. \nSessions include a conversation with a neurodivergent artist who will discuss their career path\, offer advice\, and answer questions about working as an artist. Participants will also have a chance to participate in a short art-making activity\, share some of their own art\, and connect with others. \nWorkshops are designed as a community space for neurodivergent artists including but not limited to individuals with autism and/or other intellectual / developmental disabilities.  Artists of all experience levels are welcome.  Support staff and caregivers are welcome to attend alongside artists but should not attend in place of an artist or to observe.   \n\nCheck out the registration page for full details and to RSVP.

DESCRIPTION:DEGENERATES\, written by Else Went and directed by Emma Rosa Went\, takes us into an obscure corner of the internet where a group of young men have built a community around a shared conviction: the game is rigged against them\, they will never be loved\, and there is little point in trying. When an unexpected relationship begins to form\, the consequences of that fatalism become painfully clear. Darkly funny and unsettling\, DEGENERATES examines an insular online community formed around shared and seemingly infinite miseries. \nThis is a Relaxed Performance and masks are required for all audience members. The performance is designed to create a more welcoming and flexible theatergoing environment for neurodivergent audience members\, people with sensory sensitivities\, and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance experience. Audience movement\, sound\, and re-entry are welcome. House lights will remain at a low level\, and a quiet space and sensory tools will be available. \nThere will be no changes to the onstage lighting or sound design. Information about sensory elements and other production details will be available in a Know Before You Go guide in advance of the performance.

Darkly funny and unsettling\, DEGENERATES examines an insular online community formed around shared and seemingly infinite miseries. \nThis performance will feature live Audio Description for blind and low-vision audience members. Audio Description provides live verbal descriptions of the visual elements of the production\, including action\, settings\, costumes\, and other visual details\, delivered through a headset during the performance. \nA pre-show Touch Tour will also be offered\, providing an opportunity to experience selected elements of the production through touch and description before the performance.

DESCRIPTION:Building a Career as a Neurodivergent Artist  \n\nIn this virtual series\, participants will learn about building an artistic career\, while building community with other neurodivergent artists. This series will highlight how different artists earn money while practicing their art.  Each session will focus on a different art form. \n\nWednesday August 19\, 3-5pm – Writing with guest artist Ava X. Rigelhaupt\nWednesday August 26\, 3-5pm – Visual Arts with guest artist Emily Sara\nWednesday September 2\, 3-5pm – Performing Arts with guest artist Imani Russell \n\nAll sessions will take place on Zoom. Participants can attend one\, two\, or all three workshops. \nSessions include a conversation with a neurodivergent artist who will discuss their career path\, offer advice\, and answer questions about working as an artist. Participants will also have a chance to participate in a short art-making activity\, share some of their own art\, and connect with others. \nWorkshops are designed as a community space for neurodivergent artists including but not limited to individuals with autism and/or other intellectual / developmental disabilities.  Artists of all experience levels are welcome.  Support staff and caregivers are welcome to attend alongside artists but should not attend in place of an artist or to observe.   \n\nCheck out the registration page for full details and to RSVP.

Performing alongside special guests\, he leads the audience on a musical journey through the historic neighborhood\, uncovering the rhythms and sounds of the communities that lived there in the first half of the 20th century. \nThis event is part of Lincoln Center Moments\, a free performance-based program specially designed for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. \nPerformances at 11:00 am are Relaxed Performances\, designed for a neurodiverse audience.
