SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Global Goals - A New Score for the Arts and Public Health
DESCRIPTION:What if arts engagement were treated like exercise and sport—as a core public health strategy? Against the backdrop of the world’s celebration of soccer\, this conversation explores how creativity can be understood as a health-creating behavior alongside physical activity\, supporting not only individual wellbeing\, but the health of our cities. While sport and exercise are widely recognized for protecting physical and mental health\, growing evidence shows that engagement in music\, dance\, storytelling\, and the visual arts also strengthens stress regulation\, emotional wellbeing\, social connection\, and community resilience.  \nBringing together voices from the arts\, sports\, public health\, and policy\, this event examines how creative participation can advance World Health Organization (WHO) global health targets while aligning with New York City’s priorities around prevention\, equity\, and neighborhood-level wellbeing. The conversation highlights how arts engagement can support mental health\, reduce health disparities\, and foster the social cohesion that underpins healthy\, thriving communities. We are invited to reimagine creativity not as a luxury\, but as essential civic infrastructure\, one that supports healthier bodies\, stronger social bonds\, and more resilient neighborhoods long after the final whistle. \nThis event will begin with members of the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center playing a selection from Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s String Quartet in E-flat major. \nThis panel will feature closed captioning available on personal devices by scanning a QR code. \n\nThis event is General Admission\, first-come first-served. Just show up!

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: The Ocean Keeps No Memory of the Lines
DESCRIPTION:Choreographer Christopher Núñez’s new work The Ocean Keeps No Memory of the Lines deconstructs the “blue identity” of the Americas\, reimagining the blue passport from a travel document to a talisman of our shared history. Through the lens of his own dual nationality\, and in collaboration with multi-disciplinary artist Jerron Herman\, Núñez pits the ocean’s boundless fluidity against the rigid borders of the State\, exploring how we turn a divine gift of nature—color—into a border that divides our common humanity. This performance will feature audio description\, ASL interpretation\, and open captioning. SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: The Ocean Etched in the Forest
DESCRIPTION:Lincoln Center presents a major work from the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and performer Du Yun. Born in China and currently based in New York City\, Du Yun’s insatiable curiosity finds new voice in The Ocean Etched in the Forest (刻在森林的海). Over the past several years\, Du Yun and her collaborator Julian Crouch have worked closely with Jino artists from Yunnan province\, including He Guiying\, the national inheritor of his people’s unique heritage. Living almost entirely isolated from urban society until 1979\, the Jino people have maintained their distinct culture and ecologically grounded mindset amid rampant modernization. In collaboration with Du Yun and Crouch\, Guiying has been recording Jino children from Bapiao Village as they perform nearly forgotten local folk songs. These recordings\, merged with music from Du Yun’s band OK MISS and live theatrical elements\, form Ocean’s original musical tapestry for a concert that transcends time and geography. Join us for a work that highlights the intersections of ancient tradition and modern methodology\, folk tales and contemporary storytelling\, and generations living and gone. Both showings will feature open captioning. The 2pm showing is a Relaxed Performance. \nThis performance is commissioned by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Beijing Music Festival. The world premiere of Ocean Etched in the Forest took place at the Beijing Music Festival\, followed by the North American Premiere as part of the Lincoln Center Presents Summer for the City 2026. \nTo book your ticket\, visit this website. To make the arts more accessible\, tickets are available on a Choose-What-You-Pay basis. Select the ticket value that’s right for you\, knowing your contribution helps expand access for all.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Inside the Orchestra - Intersection and Inspiration
DESCRIPTION:Join Erin Lunsford Norton (Associate Director\, Classical Programming)\, Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center musicians\, and guest artists for an inside look at the lives of orchestral musicians and insights into the evening’s concert program. In this pre-concert talk\, Norton and her guests explore the many ways composers and musicians inspire each other to move orchestral music forward. The three composers on the evening’s program (Debussy\, de Falla\, and Poulenc) intersected with and inspired each others’ music in profound ways. Together we will explore how these kinds of musical intersections and relationships in our modern world continue to fuel the development of orchestral music\, and push it in exciting new directions. Closed captioning available. \nThis event will begin with members of the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center playing a selection from Francis Poulenc’s Trio for Oboe\, Bassoon\, and Piano and Lili Boulanger’s Cortège. \n\nThis event is General Admission\, first-come first-served. Just show up!

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: The Illustrious Blacks - Beyond the Stardust: Silent Disco Remix
DESCRIPTION:Presented in collaboration with The Flea Theater \nThe always fabulous and often outrageous DJ and performance duo of Monstah Black and Black! (fka Manchildblack)\, better known as The Illustrious Blacks\, have become the go-to life of the party at venues across the country and around the world. With inspiration taken from David Bowie\, George Clinton\, Depeche Mode\, and Prince\, the pair fuses Afrofuturistic disco\, funk\, and house into an evening of music that is expressive\, exciting and truly cosmic. The Illustrious Blacks’ return to Lincoln Center at this Silent Disco Remix serves as a one-time-only introduction to the duo’s new and immersive club musical Beyond the Stardust\, jointly conceived by The Illustrious Blacks and Flea Artistic Director\, Niegel Smith. Accompanied by aerialists\, dancers\, and live singers all outfitted in theatrical costumes\, this is a Silent Disco you’ll be able to hear from outer space! Beyond the Stardust will have its world premiere at The Flea in September 2026. This event will feature haptic suits provided by Music: Not Impossible\, a Vibrotextile™ wearable technology that translates sound onto the skin through vibration. \nThere are two ways to access this free event:\n1. General Admission\, first-come first-served. Just show up!\n2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon for all. Or\, become a member and enjoy priority entry with automatic access to every Fast Track line\, all year round.
