SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: The Music of You With Dr. Susan Rogers
DESCRIPTION:Presented in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian\, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts \nListening to music excites the dopamine reward system and can trigger visuals and memories. What do you see in your mind’s eye\, and what memories does music conjure? Your “listener profile” is a Goldilocks zone—where features of the music you love best are just right: this is the music of you! Join Susan Rogers\, PhD—a behavioral neuroscientist and former record producer and engineer best known for her work with Prince—and filmmaker and DJ octomedusa for a “record pull” to discuss what the music you love reveals about your sense of self. Music lovers have sweet spots in their listener profile—Goldilocks zones where music’s features feel just right. In a record pull we play and talk about songs we love\, sharing our musical self with others. This event will feature open captioning. This is a Relaxed Performance. \nInterested in sharing your own favorite record? Submit a song from your own personal playlist and it might be selected for the program! Fill out the form  » \n\nFrom NewYork-Presbyterian\, the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts:\n\n\n\nMusic’s ability to evoke emotion and foster togetherness makes it a powerful tool for supporting mental health\, explains Dr. Andrea Beth Temkin\, a psychologist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine. Listening to music you love ignites the brain’s reward system\, and when you share that experience with others\, it can collectively lift moods\, calm emotions\, and promote a sense of connection with others — and to yourself. So come and join others in a music listening journey that explores the power and meaning of music in our lives. \n \nThere are two ways to access this free event:\n1. General Admission\, first-come first-served. Just show up!\n2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon for all. Or\, become a member and enjoy priority entry with automatic access to every Fast Track line\, all year round.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Global Goals - A New Score for the Arts and Public Health
DESCRIPTION:What if arts engagement were treated like exercise and sport—as a core public health strategy? Against the backdrop of the world’s celebration of soccer\, this conversation explores how creativity can be understood as a health-creating behavior alongside physical activity\, supporting not only individual wellbeing\, but the health of our cities. While sport and exercise are widely recognized for protecting physical and mental health\, growing evidence shows that engagement in music\, dance\, storytelling\, and the visual arts also strengthens stress regulation\, emotional wellbeing\, social connection\, and community resilience.  \nBringing together voices from the arts\, sports\, public health\, and policy\, this event examines how creative participation can advance World Health Organization (WHO) global health targets while aligning with New York City’s priorities around prevention\, equity\, and neighborhood-level wellbeing. The conversation highlights how arts engagement can support mental health\, reduce health disparities\, and foster the social cohesion that underpins healthy\, thriving communities. We are invited to reimagine creativity not as a luxury\, but as essential civic infrastructure\, one that supports healthier bodies\, stronger social bonds\, and more resilient neighborhoods long after the final whistle. \nThis event will begin with members of the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center playing a selection from Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s String Quartet in E-flat major. \nThis panel will feature closed captioning available on personal devices by scanning a QR code. \n\nThis event is General Admission\, first-come first-served. Just show up!

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: The Ocean Keeps No Memory of the Lines
DESCRIPTION:Choreographer Christopher Núñez’s new work The Ocean Keeps No Memory of the Lines deconstructs the “blue identity” of the Americas\, reimagining the blue passport from a travel document to a talisman of our shared history.
