DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a special story time and meet-and-greet featuring new children’s book\, Call Me Roberto! Roberto Clemente Goes to Bat for Latinos! Enjoy a family-friendly reading with author Nathalie Alonso and art activities with illustrator Rudy Gutierrez. \nAbout the Event:\nEvent tickets include Museum admission and an option to purchase the book. This program is targeted toward families and intergenerational groups with children ages 5-11\, though all are welcome. This is not a drop off event. Adult supervision is required. Advance registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited. \nAccessibility at the Jackie Robinson Museum \nAll exhibit galleries and programming spaces at the Museum are physically accessible and we are a KultureCity® certified Sensory-Inclusive venue\, which includes the availability of sensory bags and a designated quiet zone. SUMMARY:In Person Vibrant Verbal Description Tour: Just Frame It
DESCRIPTION:Members of the low-vision and blind community are invited to an in-person Vibrant Verbal Description Tour at Poster House. This after-hours event will provide exclusive access to the museum’s exhibition\, Just Frame It: How Nike Turned Sports Stars into Superheroes. The tour will be led by a Museum Educator. This intimate experience will allow guests to get up close with the posters described\, as well as provide additional tactile objects to help illuminate the art. \nWhile everyone is welcome\, Poster House offers Vibrant Verbal Description Tours specifically for community members who are blind\, have low vision\, or who benefit from verbal descriptions. \nAccessibility Notes: Our front door is wheelchair accessible. Masks are encouraged during this event and are available free of charge at the museum. Clear masks are also available. Assistive listening devices\, stools\, and some tactile objects will be provided.
