DESCRIPTION:In this relaxed and sensory-friendly Astronomy Live\, join Museum educators Kate Schmidt and Devin D’Agostino on a field trip to the Moon and Mars. \nLearn how our nearest neighbors compare to Earth and what it will take to land humans on another world. \nThis program is designed for a neurodiverse youth audience\, including autistic children and children with other intellectual/developmental disabilities. \nThis modified Hayden Planetarium program features: \n\nFloor lighting\nReduced volume\nA break space for participants who need to step out during the program\, and opportunity to exit and re-enter during the program\nSensory tools\, such as headsets and stress balls\, for participants\nA relaxed environment where all forms of curiosity and participation are welcome!\n\nDoors will open at 10 am and the program will begin at 10:30 am. \nThe Museum’s 81st Street entrance at the Rose Center for Earth and Space will be a dedicated entrance for attendees of this event between 10-11 am. \nPlease note that if you arrive after 11 am\, the entrance will be open to the general public for visiting the Museum.

Created and performed by mother/daughters Ranee Ramaswamy\, Aparna Ramaswamy\, and Ashwini Ramaswamy—Founders of Ragamala Dance Company and internationally acclaimed for their mastery of the South Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam — this performance reveals the dynamic interplay between dance\, music\, and poetry within their Bharatanatyam lineage. \nThis event is part of Lincoln Center Moments\, a free performance-based program specially designed for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. \nPerformances at 11:00 am are Relaxed Performances\, designed for a neurodiverse audience.
