To learn more about relaxed performances\, visit this page. \nJonathon Heyward\, conductor \nLudwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 6 (“Pastoral”) \nAs part of Summer for the City\, we are delighted to invite you to a free Open Rehearsal with the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center on July 23\, 2024 from 10:30–11:45 am at David Geffen Hall. This Relaxed Rehearsal will provide a peek behind the scenes as the Festival Orchestra prepares a piece for performance. Bask in Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony\, inspired by his love of nature and walks in the country. \nWhat to expect at a Relaxed Open Rehearsal:–Guests are able to enter and leave the audience space throughout the event\, as needed.–Guests can vocalize or move throughout audience space.–Fellow audience members are asked to create a no “shushing” zone.–House lights are adjusted so that venue is never fully dark.–Attention to bright lights\, loud noises\, and surprise sensory elements are described in advance.–Chill Out Space is available for guests to take a break and rejoin the rehearsal when ready.–A visual guide\, with clear instructions\, will be shared before event.–Noise-reducing headphones and fidgets are available to borrow.–Staff members and artists are trained in access and inclusion best practices. \nPlease note: This is a working rehearsal\, open to an audience to observe. Poster House is delighted to welcome the disability arts ensemble Kinetic Light. Alice Sheppard and Laurel Lawson from Kinetic Light will be presenting a work-in-progress excerpt from their newest dance work\, The Next T.i.M.es\, and additional Kinetic Light works. \nWorking in the disciplines of art\, technology\, design\, and dance\, Kinetic Light creates\, performs\, and teaches at the nexus of access\, queerness\, disability\, dance\, and race. The company is led by disabled artists; disabled artists create\, design\, and perform the work.
