Gerald Cantor Auditorium\, 3rd Floor \n\nGet tickets\nCelebrate Valentine’s Day and the release of Ten Bridges I’ve Burnt with author Brontez Purnell\, the “bard of the underloved and overlooked.” In his first collection of verse\, Purnell reflects on his peripatetic life marked by misadventures and sexcapades. Throughout thirty-eight autobiographical poems\, he muses on topics ranging from capitalism and Blackness to jogging and the ethics of art. \nPurnell—who is also the frontperson of the band the Younger Lovers—begins this program with a performance\, followed by a conversation. DESCRIPTION:The Guggenheim welcomes visitors from the D/deaf community for an in-person American Sign Language (ASL) tour on Sunday\, February 25\, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Join us at the museum to explore the exhibition Going Dark: The Contemporary Figure at the Edge of Visibility. \nThis after-hours program will be led by educator Joyce Hom. We’ll begin with a tour of the galleries followed by a light reception and art-making activities in the education center. \nDesigned for the D/deaf community\, the tour is in ASL only without voice interpretation. Due to limited capacity\, we are not able to accommodate ASL students at this time. \nFree\, but space is limited. Please RSVP at least three days before the program.
