DESCRIPTION:In celebration of our new exhibition Africa Fashion\, explore the influence of African culture and style through this conversation with three visionaries who are championing creativity on the continent. Reni Folawiyo is a cultural entrepreneur from Lagos\, Nigeria\, known for her role in shaping and defining contemporary African style. Artsi Ifrah is the creative talent behind Maison ARTC\, a leading Marrakech-based fashion label whose work is on view in the exhibition. Kehinde Wiley is both one of the world’s foremost painters and the founder of Black Rock Senegal\, which brings together international artists to live and work in Dakar. All three will speak with award-winning Lagos- and Brooklyn-based journalist Lola Ogunnaike\, providing insight into the creative renaissance taking place across Africa. \nTickets are $30 and include after-hours admission to Africa Fashion. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Pride Month at Frick Madison! This free event invites visitors to spend a summer evening among the Frick’s treasures. Attend themed talks\, listen to live jazz in our outdoor café\, and try your hand at figure drawing with drag artist Gloria Swansong. All night long\, escape the heat with after-hours access to our galleries and reading room—including a special new pastel mural by artist Nicolas Party. \nComplimentary refreshments from The SisterYard will be provided. Gallery talks will explore pastels by Nicolas Party and Rosalba Carriera\, Pride-themed selections from the Frick Art Reference Library\, and J. M. W. Turner’s Harbor of Dieppe. Plus\, get a final glimpse of the gold and gems on display in our decorative arts exhibition The Gregory Gift\, closing soon. \nAmerican Sign Language interpretation and Assistive Listening Devices will be available at all the talks.
