SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Rachid Ouramdane | Compagnie de Chaillot
DESCRIPTION:Part of the Pasculano Collaborative for Contemporary Dance \nPart of the inaugural Lincoln Center Contemporary Dance Festival\, TORDRE is an intimate\, sensitive duet celebrating atypical physicality. Set on two outstanding dancers\, Annie Hanauer and Lora Juodkaite\, French choreographer Rachid Ouramdane explores questions of identity\, difference and personal expression. Challenging traditional representations of virtuosity\, TORDRE (or twisting) is a highly poetic piece\, where difference becomes a source of beauty and expressive power. This performance will feature Audio Description. \nWith the support of Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo book your ticket\, visit this website. To make the arts more accessible\, tickets are available on a Choose-What-You-Pay basis. Select the ticket value that’s right for you\, knowing your contribution helps expand access for all.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Nightbirds\, The Music of Labelle
DESCRIPTION:Dream Machine Studio presents Nightbirds: The Music of Labelle\, featuring Labelle founding member Nona Hendryx alongside a trio of original Labelle musicians—Eddie Martinez on guitar\, Carmine Rojas on bass\, and Jose Rossy on percussion. Guest vocalists include Ledisi\, Sandra St. Victor\, Kimberly Nichole\, and Tony Award-winning Adrienne Warren. Special co-host Patti LaBelle joins the celebration making it a night to remember! This is a celebration of the metamorphosis of a ‘60s cookie-cutter girl group known as Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles into Afrofuturist rock\, funk\, R&B\, and gospel sirens. The queens of “Wear Something Silver” gave us the #1 worldwide hit “Lady Marmalade\,” became the first African-American female group to perform at The Metropolitan Opera House in 1974\, and delivered anthems like “What Can I Do for You” and “Can I Speak to You Before You Go to Hollywood?” Join us as we resurrect the magic\, funk\, and pure power of Labelle. Come dressed in your most iconic silver outfit. This performance will be ASL interpreted. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo book your ticket\, visit this website. To make the arts more accessible\, tickets are available on a Choose-What-You-Pay basis. Select the ticket value that’s right for you\, knowing your contribution helps expand access for all. For sold-out shows\, a day-of line will form day-of at the box office\, prior to showtime. Tickets may become available to the day-of line on a first-come\, first-served basis. Admission is not guaranteed.
