SUMMARY:Neurodivergence and Art Museums Symposium
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]This symposium will consider how art museums can be reimagined as public spaces that\nembrace and engage individuals with a diverse range of neuro-abilities\, and create opportunities\nfor dialogue\, connection\, and innovation. Panelists will address the process of creating neuro-\ninclusive environments from the experience of neurodivergence; audiences for neuro-inclusive\ndesign; and the ways in which neurodivergent visitors can discover\, navigate\, and make use of\nthese environments. These cross-disciplinary discussions will explore how different fields\nengage and embrace neurodivergent visitors and consider how art museums can look to\ninterdisciplinary solutions to open their spaces to the neurodivergent community.   \nFeaturing Stuart Neilson\, PhD\, in conversation with Justin Berry\, Creative Producer / Project\nDirector XRPeds Lab\, The Yale Center for Immersive Technologies in Pediatrics as the keynote\nconversation. \nThere will be a livestream of the symposium available via the YCBA website.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
