SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents- Nordic Next: Beth McBride and FRÄNDER
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the visionary\, boundary-pushing artistry of the Nordic countries\, audiences are invited to transport themselves to the north for a night at Lincoln Center’s Nordic Next. \nBeth McBride is the solo project of singer and songwriter Bethany Forseth-Reichberg\, known from bands such as Mall Girl and tigerstate. With a dream of writing her own music\, a rattly guitar\, and a few more life experiences\, she has now completed her debut album\, set to be released on Warner/ADA in 2026. Nordic Next will be her first concert as Beth McBride in the U.S.! She was born in the U.S. and grew up in Norway; her music is about reconnecting with her roots\, trusting her intuition\, and dreaming big. \nFounded one decade ago in Håga\, Sweden\, FRÄNDER unites Swedish and Estonian traditions with a bold modern edge\, creating a contemporary “heavy folk” sound that is both acoustic and richly powerful. Now a standout voice on the Nordic folk scene\, they deliver an evocative soundscape inspired by ancient northern woodlands. Their latest album\, Fränder II\, pushes the boundaries of folk with echoes of rock energy woven into deep-rooted Nordic rhythms. The band members include founding siblings Gabbi Dluzewski (Swedish mandola and vocals) and Daniel Dluzewski (double bass and vocals)\, performing alongside Gabbi’s wife Säde Tatar (flute and vocals)\, percussionist Andreas Berglund\, and fiddler Gabriella Josefsson. Together\, they create a sound that is at once ancient\, modern\, and unmistakably their own. \nNordic Next is presented in collaboration with the Consulates General of Denmark\, Finland\, Norway\, and Sweden in New York\, and with the Embassy of Iceland in Washington\, D.C.\, with additional support from the American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF).

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents- A Murray Little Christmas: 25th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:Cue the snow machine and strike up the band: the King of Christmas is coming uptown! Star of HBO’s Somebody Somewhere\, host of the historic King of Drag\, and NYC’s “hardest-working middle-aged man in showbiz\,” Murray Hill celebrates 25 years of his beloved winter variety show with a one-night-only Lincoln Center extravaganza. A Murray Little Christmas is and has always been a haven for all: queer folks\, chosen families\, tourists\, outcasts\, seniors\, lonely hearts\, show people\, and anyone who needs a holiday pick-me-up. What began as a downtown romp has grown into an annual tradition of epic camp\, comedy\, and community\, drawing a quarter-century of sold-out crowds and rave reviews. Attendees are invited to dress for the occasion\, so come in your ugly Santa sweaters\, cocktail chic\, festive furry suits\, or reindeer runway outfits. This year\, Hill pulls out all the stops with a 10-piece band\, his favorite performers\, a choir (or two)\, celebrity cameos\, showbiz razzle-dazzle\, and holiday cheer! \nSpecial guests announced soon on Instagram: @murrayhill

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents- Culture: NYC and the American Voice
DESCRIPTION:Presented in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic \nAs New York City celebrates its 400th birthday\, a panel of creators\, performers\, and scholars explores the city’s contribution to the American cultural voice in the performing arts and in literature. The springboards for the conversation are three iconic instrumental works created in New York that have left an indelible mark on the U.S. musical landscape: a symphonic suite from the shore-leave musical On the Town by former NY Phil Music Director Leonard Bernstein; Gershwin’s Concerto in F\, which the NY Phil commissioned in 1925; and Dvořák’s omnipresent New World Symphony\, unveiled by the NY Phil in 1893. \nThis conversation is part of a five-event series examining the American experience in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. Moderated by renowned ethnomusicologist\, historian\, and Juilliard faculty member Fredara Hadley\, each discussion is scheduled to last one hour and will be followed by an audience Q&A

SUMMARY:New York Philharmonic: El Canto de Las Manos
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of music\, film\, and conversation centered on the US Premiere screening of actress-filmmaker María Valverde’s El Canto de las Manos\, a documentary about the power of music to change people’s lives. The 2025 film follows Jennifer\, Gabriel\, and José — three Deaf musicians who are members of Venezuela’s Coro de Manos Blancas — as they bring Beethoven’s opera Fidelio to the stage in sign language for the first time\, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel\, a Rolex Testimonee and now the NY Phil’s Tang Music & Artistic Director Designate. \n“Music is not only the inspiration and driving force in the lives of these brilliant Deaf artists\, but also their refuge and salvation\,” says Valverde. “This is a story of justice — of how art transcends the visible and transforms its protagonists into guides who illuminate a new way of experiencing music\, one that comes from a deeper level of awareness; a declaration of freedom and dignity.” \nThe evening begins with a live performance of music from Fidelio\, with Dudamel conducting the Juilliard Orchestra\, Juilliard vocal students\, and Deaf actors engaged through Deaf West Theatre. Following the screening\, actor and filmmaker Bradley Cooper moderates a discussion with Dudamel\, Valverde\, and Deaf West Theatre artistic director DJ Kurs. \nTo make sure that the experience is welcoming to all\, the discussion includes ASL interpretation by SignNexus\, and the film is being screened with open captions in English and Spanish. \nPresented in partnership with Rolex and in collaboration with Lincoln Center\, The Juilliard School\, and DOC NYC. \nEnhance your experience with a VIP ticket\, which offers access to the post-event reception with Gustavo Dudamel\, María Valverde\, and Bradley Cooper. Please fill in this form to purchase.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents- San Juan Hill: Manhattan's Lost Neighborhood
DESCRIPTION:San Juan Hill: Manhattan’s Lost Neighborhood is an hour-long documentary directed by Emmy Award winner Stanley Nelson\, preeminent documentarian of the African American experience. In the first half of the twentieth century\, the area where Lincoln Center now stands was known as San Juan Hill. Predating the golden age of the Harlem Renaissance\, musical phenomena like Bebop and the Charleston bloomed in this cultural mecca. Home to a largely working-class community\, San Juan Hill was redlined in the 1930s and targeted by “urban renewal” in the 1940s and 1950s\, displacing thousands of residents. Their stories of home\, belonging\, and resilience have gone untold until now. Through never-before-accessed historical footage\, expert commentary\, first-person storytelling with former residents\, and narration by Academy Award-winning actress Ariana DeBose (West Side Story)\, San Juan Hill: Manhattan’s Lost Neighborhood celebrates the people\, arts\, and culture whose enduring legacy resonates today. \nThis film was commissioned by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and presented in association with Film at Lincoln Center. This film is made possible by support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. \nPanel Participants \nModerator\nLoren Schoenberg\, Founding Director and Senior Scholar\, National Jazz Museum in Harlem \nPanelists\nAaron Flagg\, Chair and Associate Director of Juilliard Jazz Studies\, The Juilliard School\nFredara Hadley\, Professor of Ethnomusicology\, The Juilliard School\nDr. Vanessa K. Valdés\, Writer and Independent Scholar\, African Diasporic Studies
