SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Voices of a People's History
DESCRIPTION:The works of Brooklyn-born author and historian Howard Zinn (1922–2010)\, particularly the classic bestsellers A People’s History of the United States and Voices of a People’s History of the United States\, continue to shine a light on the extraordinary history of those engaged in struggles for freedom and justice in America. Since 2009\, Lincoln Center has found a meaningful partner in Voices of a People’s History\, a non-profit organization of artists and educators who seek to keep Zinn’s message of grassroots egalitarianism alive. This night of readings and performances features students from The Judith S. Kaye School\, Urban Academy\, N.Y.C Lab School\, and Spruce Street School.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Minty Fresh Circus
DESCRIPTION:Conceived by Monique Martin in collaboration with a range of circus performing artists\, Minty Fresh Circus is a US-based circus show performed by an all-Black and Brown cast celebrating the healing power of Black music and movement\, infused with the joy and resilience of those who traversed the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Inspired by abolitionist Harriet Araminta Tubman and the survival of generations of African Americans\, the central question in Minty Fresh Circus is: what does freedom feel and sound like if your only access to it is through your imagination?

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Oscar Dudamel y su Orquesta
DESCRIPTION:It’s a family affair at Lincoln Center when the acclaimed Venezuelan trombonist and bandleader Oscar Dudamel—father of the New York Philharmonic’s Music & Artistic Director\, Gustavo Dudamel—takes the stage with his Orchestra for a free concert and social dance event at the David Rubenstein Atrium. A musical prodigy\, Oscar Dudamel was enraptured in his youth by the magic of salsa when he first heard the sounds of Willie Colón. Dudamel received classical training within his hometown’s highly regarded El Sistema Music Education program and went on to play in classical orchestras\, but his fascination with the Caribbean rhythms of salsa never left him. His Caracas-based salsa orchestra has shared the stage with Rubén Blades\, Hector Lavoe\, Gilberto Santa Rosa\, Luis Enrique\, and many others. Dudamel’s headlining\, full-band Lincoln Center premiere celebrates the release of the artist’s new album Sueño Alcanzado.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Juilliard Green Club Presents an Earth Day Concert
DESCRIPTION:Dancers\, actors\, and musicians from The Juilliard Green Club are thrilled to take the stage to present a multi-genre\, immersive concert experience. We ask our audience to consider our collective futures in the face of climate change amidst differences in background\, class\, resources\, and geographical location. Artists have always looked either to the past or forward to an unknown future\, often attempting to predict what awaits all of us with the knowledge that they have in their time. This need to consider our place and agency within a larger context is one artists always struggle with; but today\, it is something we all struggle with\, as the choices necessary to guarantee a safe future are not in our hands. We will consider art that seeks out the past\, present\, and future of our Earth to answer the following question: how have artists considered their futures in the past\, and what can we learn from them in imagining our own future?

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: for colored girls
DESCRIPTION:*Please note: This performance contains adult themes and strong language. Audience discretion is advised; this show is intended for ages 13+. \nNtozake Shange’s enduring\, epochal choreopoem for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf celebrates its 50th anniversary with a reimagined musical treatment. In collaboration with Lincoln Center Visionary Artist Jeanine Tesori\, composer Natalie Brown brings new dimensions to for colored girls\, setting its text to song and extending the legacy of this canonical work. By weaving melody into Shange’s rhythm and language\, Brown opens new points of access to its lasting themes of resilience\, identity\, and womanhood. Directed by Ellenore Scott\, choreographer of the recent Broadway run of Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of Ragtime\, this presentation honors the original work’s groundbreaking impact while boldly reframing it for a contemporary audience. Together\, Brown and Scott illuminate for colored girls‘ brilliance and breathe new life into the poetry\, musicality\, and movement essential to the original production. This project asks what it means to carry forward an American cultural legacy; and how music can deepen the resonance of words that have already changed the world.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents- REVIVAL: The Gospel According to Donald Lawrence (Featuring Special Guest: LEDISI And Joseph Joubert)
DESCRIPTION:GRAMMY Award-winning producer\, composer\, and choir master Donald Lawrence has been one of the most prominent and celebrated voices in contemporary gospel music for over 30 years. Alongside his choir\, the Tri-City Singers\, Lawrence’s talent has been instrumental in the work of The Clark Sisters\, Mary J. Blige\, Kirk Franklin\, and Hezekiah Walker\, among many others. For this one-night-only REVIVAL at David Geffen Hall\, Lawrence is joined by special guest LEDISI\, the powerhouse GRAMMY Award winner whose voice transcends genre—blending soul\, R&B\, gospel\, and jazz with emotional depth and technical mastery. Together they celebrate great gospel composers in an expansive meditation on the traditions and artistry of gospel music: its roots\, its resilience\, and its power to move the human spirit. In times of upheaval and trouble\, what does gospel have to offer the modern listener? Lawrence’s answer is both deeply personal and universally resonant\, reminding us of the art form’s enduring capacity to inspire and uplift. Through song\, reflection\, and reinvention\, Lawrence—alongside his ensemble of singers and band—invites us to witness how gospel music gives wings to collective struggle\, joy\, and heritage. Join us for an evening that traces gospel’s historical and musical lineage while opening space for audiences to experience the high artform that it is. \nProduced in collaboration with Spoke Creative Studios

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: HUMAN/MACHINE= HUMACHINE - The Future of Creative Integration
DESCRIPTION:Groundbreaking musician\, producer\, author\, and revolutionary creative force Nona Hendryx leads an innovative salon featuring artistic luminaries working at the intersection of art\, technology\, and Black imagination. This immersive evening of performance and conversation centers ancestral wisdom alongside cutting-edge innovation\, where the boundaries between human creativity and machine intelligence blur into something entirely new. We examine our evolving relationship with technology—from extended reality interfaces that reshape perception to the emergence of digital twins and cyborg aesthetics. Experience artists pushing the boundaries of human-machine collaboration\, and engage with the urgent question: as we merge ever more deeply with our technological creations\, what futures can we imagine and build? Featuring interdisciplinary artists\, technologists\, and visionaries experimenting with creative AI\, biohacking\, and immersive media\, this event showcases the endless possibilities emerging from our increasingly symbiotic relationship with machines—while interrogating who gets to shape these futures and whose stories are told.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Jeanine Tesori's Violet In American Sign Language by Deaf Broadway
DESCRIPTION:Performed in American Sign Language (ASL) by a full Deaf Broadway cast and accompanied by the original Broadway cast album\, Jeanine Tesori’s Violet tells the story of a young woman’s quest for beauty amidst the image-obsessed landscape of the 1960s. Facially disfigured in a childhood accident\, Violet dreams of a miraculous transformation through the power of faith. Convinced that a televangelist in Oklahoma can heal her\, she boards a Greyhound bus and starts the journey of a lifetime. Winner of the Drama Critics’ Circle Award\, Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical\, and nominated for a Tony\, Violet features show-stopping anthems\, ranging from American roots to folk to gospel\, with a score from Tony-winning composer and Lincoln Center Visionary Artist Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by the acclaimed Brian Crawley. Deaf Broadway\, synonymous with authentically Deaf musical theater\, returns to Lincoln Center after their previous smash productions of RENT and Waitress: The Musical (pictured above). This remarkable company is guided by their overlying mission to provide unprecedented visual access to classic musical works of the American theater for those whose primary and native language is American Sign Language\, creating a more equitable shared evening for hearing and Deaf audiences alike.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Meadow\, Wildflowers
DESCRIPTION:The New York Times called the American Modern Opera Company’s Summer for the City 2025 season “a milestone” both for the performers and for Lincoln Center. The March program spotlights a formidable chamber music collective constructed of AMOC* core ensemble members including violinist/violist Miranda Cuckson\, violinist Keir GoGwilt\, and cellist Coleman Itzkoff. Together\, they will play “Wildflowers\,” a new and intricate miniature duet for violins by Juri Seo\, and “Meadow\,” composer Linda Catlin Smith’s gently wandering\, gradually unfolding string trio. The program closes with a rendition of selected movements from “Limin’\,” the Canadian composer/pianist Stewart Goodyear’s suite for violin and keys that draws inspiration from American and Caribbean scenes and dances. “Limin'” will feature Cuckson and a special guest appearance from Goodyear on piano.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Visual Futurist Analog/Digital Synthesis in Contemporary Art
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to an intimate forum led by the musical legend and technological savant Nona Hendryx. Together\, with a panel of creative minds and futurist spirits including Kate Freer\, Mimi Lien\, Miles Regis\, and more to be announced\, we’ll explore the threshold spaces between analog craft and digital innovation in contemporary Black artistic practice\, revealing how ancestral technique and futuristic methodology can coexist and amplify one another. As immersive technologies\, AI tools\, and virtual spaces increasingly shape cultural production\, these artists model approaches that refuse to abandon the material world while embracing digital fluency. Their practices offer crucial templates for maintaining creative agency\, cultural specificity\, and aesthetic integrity in an increasingly mediated landscape. We invite you to an exchange that moves between the philosophical and the practical\, that interrogates both conceptual frameworks and the nuts-and-bolts of hybrid studio practice. We welcome you to Convergence.

SUMMARY:Lincoln Center Presents: Zoilapianista and Her Band
DESCRIPTION:The Mexico City-born pianist\, arranger\, composer\, producer\, and singer Zoilapianista began her musical career as a child prodigy. Influenced by the legendary Latin jazz artist Papo Lucca\, she boldly transitioned from classical music into salsa. Lucca and Sonora Ponceña supported her 2013 debut solo album\, Influencias\, which featured both a duet with and a tribute to Lucca. Over the years\, she has gone on to accompany numerous iconic salsa and jazz artists\, including Ismael Miranda\, Maelo Ruiz\, the Puerto Rico All-Stars\, and Justo Betancourt. As one of the first Mexican women to record salsa internationally\, she has broken barriers with every note. Now based in New York City\, she is recognized as a dynamic bandleader and visionary musician\, continuing to blaze her own trail in today’s musical landscape. Join us at the David Rubenstein Atrium and be captivated by her soaring musicality and DJ Linda behind the DJ booth.
