Reagon’s program this year is a continuation of her Songs of the Living Community Choir project\, and the Parable Path. This iteration of Songs of the Living is centered on freedom songs: drawing from 200 years of Black Music in collaboration with music across the global African Diaspora. This Juneteenth concert will be rooted in music Toshi learned as a child growing up during the Southern Freedom Movement which expanded into the 20th century American Civil Rights Movement and other revolutions in international human history.
